Our Mission AI

Our mission at 1040BoatWorks is to actively promote youth sailing by alleviating the often considerable stress associated with transportation for both parents and yacht clubs alike. We fully recognize that logistical challenges can significantly hinder young sailors from accessing the water and acquiring invaluable experience on the waves. By offering a diverse range of convenient transportation solutions and dedicated support services tailored to meet the needs of young sailors, we aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment. This allows children to concentrate fully on learning the intricacies of sailing and enjoying their time on the water, rather than feeling anxious about how to get to their respective destinations. Our comprehensive approach not only facilitates their participation in various sailing programs but also fosters a lifelong love for the sport, ultimately contributing meaningfully to the growth and vitality of the sailing community as a cohesive and vibrant whole.

The three main problems with keeping sailing a thriving sport, affordability, availability, and logistics. When it comes to choosing a sport most parents consider the price first, when in reality they should be consider what makes their child happy.

The majority of people believe that sailing is considered a rich mans hobby and they wouldn’t be wrong but there’s more than just old wealthy people sitting on a yacht enjoying their caviar and champagne, there’s a whole community of people racing small dinghy’s like myself included. This niche group of people are some of the most interesting people you will ever meet, at any event outside of youth events you will find a mix of children who bring life and energy to the events to some more elderly folk who are just enjoying their lives out in the sun, to even college students hoping and training hard to make it to the Olympics, and they all share one thing in common, passion, every single one of these people have passion for sailing now it may be for different reasons but everybody loves sailing even if your not winning the regatta everyone is still having fun, making friends and memories that they will forever remember.

Now before getting into why I decided to start this company let me tell you a bit about myself. My name Is Dylan Williams and I fell in love with the sport of sailing at a very young age, some would say I found my passion and they wouldn’t be wrong. In the beginning of my sailing journey I started sailing on the Great South Bay of Long Island at Bellport Bay SF --I’m still a proud member there— that’s where I learned the basics, they ran sessions every Summer Break, and for four years I kept attending their classes. After a while of doing that I started Racing, which is when I truly fell in love with the sport, when I went to these Regattas I was never winning anything I was always the last boat across the finish line, but that didn’t discourage me from continuing on. My parents realized that I wasn’t racing because I wanted to win, obviously their was a part of me that wants to get a first place trophy at some point, they realized that I was racing because I enjoyed Sailing as a whole. And I still do enjoy sailing, I am an active participant in many regattas around the world now and my goal currently for sailing is to make it to the Olympics and be the First American ILCA 7 Sailor to get a Gold Medal.

I made this company not to help me pay for my sailing but primarily to help get more kids involved, What I want most is to see Regattas full of kids having fun making friends and loving life. And I believe by helping alleviate stress off the parents for managing to get their Childs boat to a regatta will help promote more kids to show up to these regattas.
